Le Moulin St Laurent is committed to a sustainable development policy by implementing various short- and long-term actions through commitments that reflect its community and environmental values.
In the current context, the company believes it is necessary to take decisive and swift action. Le Moulin de St-Laurent will henceforth position itself as a reference in eco-responsible culinary tourism. The company will also ensure it partners with suppliers who share the same values.
In the restaurant sector, concrete actions have been and will continue to be implemented, such as limiting water consumption, managing energy use, reducing residual materials—including recycling all materials—and eventually introducing composting.
Regarding the building itself, eco-designed building materials will be controlled and used in an efficient and sustainable way, including the use and purchase of recycled materials and from local companies.
Furthermore, a community outreach component is already in operation and will continue to grow with volunteers from Île d’Orléans, with the aim of redistributing food and avoiding waste.
The policy will be reviewed and renewed annually by a committee. Any employee wishing to volunteer is welcome. Each and every one of us is thus committed together to this new path.
