SINCE 1986

Our family became the owners of Le Moulin St. Laurent.
Yvon Prémont (our uncle), his sister Élise Prémont (our mother), and her husband Jean-Victor Lachance (our father) took up the challenge of promoting local cuisine on Île d’Orléans. To achieve this goal, they had to make great efforts in something totally new for them.

Our family’s connection with the people of the Island community, as well as the desire to offer fine cuisine focused on local and refined products, have gradually woven a tradition of good food, good wine and music that has quickly become an intergenerational success.

Indeed, we, Anne and Julie, as well as our sister Geneviève, began to work every summer in the dining room, creating a friendly, endearing and unique family style welcome.

The company grew when we became co-owners, Anne in 1994 and Julie in 2001.

In 1996, our family also decided to acquire houses on the riverside close to the Moulin to add the accommodation component to the business.  This initiative offers customers the opportunity to relax in a haven of peace nearby the restaurant.

Finally, in recent years, our children have also begun to involve themselves in the company. The story continues…

It is therefore with great pleasure that the family and its employees welcome thousands of people from Quebec and abroad every summer. Tradition, quality, heritage values and relaxation make the reputation of this honourable institution that is the Moulin de Saint-Laurent.

In addition, for 25 years, every Sunday evening, Martin Verret’s music has been enhancing meals at the Moulin de St-Laurent, where the past feeds the present.

Looking forward to welcoming you,
Anne and Julie Lachance
